via Autodesk Manufacturing Northern Europe - Autodesk Inventor, Showcase, Molflow, Vault etc von steve.bedder@autodesk.com (Steve Bedder) am 23.10.09

As regular readers of this and others blogs will know, Autodesk recently released SketchBookMobile. SketchBookMobile allows iPhone and iTouch users to have the same intuitive digital sketching tools right in the palm of their hand, wherever they are!
As a design engineer, you can't control when you come up with an idea or solution, you could be having dinner with the family, watching the match, taking a walk or even at work! Wherever you are SketchBookMobile will allow you to sketch your ideas, thoughts and designs using just your iPhone and fingers.
Now how does this help a design engineer or manufacturer I hear you cry......

Windows Permissions Required over the SQL Instances Database folder

via Cracking the Vault von Richard Rankin am 20.10.09

You have installed or moved the AUTODESKVAULT SQL instances folder containing the database folders to another location other than the default. You would like to know what security permissions are required.

Ensure the following users have Full Control permission over the files contained within the mdf and ldf files used by the AUTODESKVAULT instance. The easiest way to achieve this is to set the permisssion for the parent folder and propagate it down to the child objects.

To determine the permissions required on a folder, navigate to it in Windows Explorer, right click it and select “Sharing and Security”, then click the Security tab.

(Default "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data")

  • SYSTEM
  • "SQLServer2005MSSQLUser$<COMPUTERNAMER>$AUTODESKVAULT"
    • example = "SQLServer2005MSSQL$FARA05261$AUTODESKVAULT"

Important!

When Applying these permissions, ensure that you click the Advanced button and tick "Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child object"
