Notes About Installation
-
Please update your operating system before you install Autodesk Product Design Suite 2012. Reboot your system after all security updates, and so on, are installed.
-
.NET 4.0 is required for the installation of Product Design Suite 2012. Please verify that .NET 4.0 is installed before you start to install or deploy product. If it is not installed the installer can be found on the source media under "…\3rdParty\NET\4\wcu\dotNetFramework\dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe".
- Close all Autodesk applications before installation, maintenance, or uninstalling of the software.
- After you finish a silent deployment installation, reboot the computer before you launch product. If the version of MSI of your operating system is lower than 4.0, the operating system reboots automatically after the silent deployment install finishes.
- If you are running Windows Vista 64-bit or Windows 7 64-bit, verify that you have the Microsoft fix for user mode callback exceptions KB976038. This fix ensures that Autodesk receives the correct data from Inventor error reports. For more information, and access to this and related Microsoft downloads, refer to Autodesk Technical Solution 15492718.
- You may install all products at once, or in multiple sessions of the product Design Suite installer.
- If you want to install Autodesk Fusion 2012 with Autodesk Inventor 2012 or AutoCAD Mechanical 2012, we recommend that you also install Autodesk Fusion 2012 Service Pack 1. On the Autodesk Product Design Suite 2012 Install - Configure page, click the small down arrow to expand the Autodesk Fusion 2012 configuration section, and then select the service pack along with other configuration options.
- If you find some products cannot be selected to install, you can put the mouse on the red "prohibited" circle in front of the product to get more information.
- If you download the source files to a local folder with a name that contains non-English characters, make sure that the language in Regional Settings is consistent with the language name of the local folder.
- When you browse a downloaded language pack, select the language that matches the language of the local, or English machine. Also, make sure all of the products you plan to install or deploy are of the same language.
- If you install Autodesk Design Review 2012, it automatically uninstalls your installed Autodesk Design Review 2011.
- Ensure that the deployment log file path does not include non-English characters, and that the deployment image path is less than 65 claracters long.
- Non-silent deployment install sometimes takes a long time to initialize. During initializing, the installer UI sometimes disappears for a while.
- When you modify deployment on Windows XP operating systems, please make sure the version of MSI is higher than 4.0 or installation errors will be encountered.
- Create the deployment on a computer that does not have the Product Design Suite products installed. If you must use a computer that already has the Product Design Suite products installed on it, use a x86 machine to create a 32bit deployment and use a x64 machine to create a 64bit deployment image.
